Marine MOS 0311 (Rifleman); is it a good path to choose in the Marines?

I'm 16, Junior in High School, and Looking to enlist in the Marine Corps after graduation. I've been doing a lot of research about all of the MOS's and a few have really appealed to me, specifically MOS 0311 which is rifleman. Would this be a good MOS to choose, getting past all of the dangers of it, the toughness of the training (I'm 100% sure that it is NOT a fun lifestyle.) and all of that. I'm looking to proudly serve my country that has given me every opportunity. There have been others that appealed to me, such as artillery however I would appreciate if going infantry would be a respectable and reward able (not money or anything along those lines) path in the Marine Corps.
