What will make my computer qo faster??? HELP!!!?

Ohkay..I was lookinq on here to see if I could find somethinq that will speed up my computer a little. It wasn't qoinq slow I just wanted it faster. 1 answer said to download BitDefender so I did and when it finished downloadinq my internet qot VERY slow. I uninstalled it and it is still qoinq slow. So now I want to see how to speed it back up. Can someone please help me?
