Why is being an eagle scout a turn off for a lot of girls?

I know its often ociated with being nerdy, but that isn't always the case. I feel like people just jump to this conclusion without even knowing about it. Eagle Scout is the highest rank in Boy Scouts and you have to spend years getting it (usually 5-6) it takes a ton of work, you have to be in high school to get it; its not something that you can earn as a little kid. Also once your an Eagle Scout, your in it for life, it is a type of brotherhood and it looks really good to colleges & employers. So why the hell is it a bad thing, I just don't get it? i get made fun of for it, usually not by girls that I actually care about but it seriously is just odd and quite annoying to be honest. I'm openly a nerd (not the Steve Urkel type nerd, lol) , I'll admit that but is being a nerd a turn off as well? Sorry this is so long, thanks for answering.
